Hong Kong Shops
Small, individually owned shops are quickly disappearing. The years of pandemic, home delivery, supply chain concerns and lockdowns have shifted consumer habits to using large corporate chains with a wide selection of products. Mobile App instead of neighborhood shop.
The photographs in this work are of some of the shops that still remain in my Hong Kong neighborhood. It seems that lately fewer and fewer are there every week.
The photograph is printed on a 150cm by 900cm (55” by 355”) cloth, hung from a 300cm (120”) circular frame.
